We visited in two different years, both times in the Fall (once at Thanksgiving) and we just had wonderful wonderful experiences both times. The best birding and the most wonderful color and the friendliest people. Thank you for the memories. Wish we could go back.Sallie (FullTime-Life)https://www.blogger.com/profile/15442598857394838271noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4024200559736996534.post-12467018626823789852012-12-04T08:33:55.842-07:002012-12-04T08:33:55.842-07:00I was very interested to see this post. It turns out that mountain lions actually do live there.

Charlotte, according to my Adventure Guide to New Mexico by Rankin Harvey, the Bosque was established in 1936. The first year only 20 of the then-endangered Sandhill Cranes appeared. The latest count for them this year was 4,178! That first shot of the sand cranes with the mountains is classic. Wow! It reminded me of when I was visiting Lake Nakuru,Kenya and the magnificent pink flamingoes that sojourn there.
