Stormy Day in Southern New Mexico for Skywatch


Big sky; looking to the northeast of Las Cruces on a rare stormy afternoon


The sun peeks out somewhere to the west and a rainbow appears


The rainbow doubles itself, ending in a pecan orchard, where the pecans are like gold to the local economy

    I was not expecting those rainbows! The sky was gorgeous. I love storm clouds like that. Great catch at the end of the rainbow.

    I can remember these wonderful sunrises and sunsets happening in New Mexico. This rainbow photograph tops all the ones I can remember. I used to live in Albuquerque, NM when I was a child.

    Love your stormy skies !!!

    (when we went to Carlsbad Caverns area, there was a big storm. we just watched it from inside. in a few moments it was warm as can be. as we drove to our next 'area' in our road trip, we watched the skies. we talk about that a lot...)
