Well, those photos may not be beautiful, but they are interesting in their own unique way. We traveled over 700 miles this weekend, most of it on the highway and I noticed that even on that rather bland interstate landscape, there were moments of beauty to witness. Light and shadow, unexpected wildflowers, birds weaving a path through powerlines...
Well, I'm from calif, but I don't know where 580 is! Though I have seen lots of traffic over crowding & industry in many places there. Though lots of beauty as well... guess we have to take the bad with the good... though I'd much prefer just the good! Hey Clair, I bought some PECANS from the farmers mkt last weekend- the vendor was from Las Cruces! Probably the best Pecans I've ever tasted!

Becky, look on a map south of Oakland. I-580 runs across the state east through Livermore, then angles down and joins I-5 to run down through the Central Valley. At least those are the parts we traveled on.
