Wind power in the Palm Desert, California |
I snapped this shot as we drove through southern California last week. We were surprised to see the snow still on the mountains surrounding the
Palm Desert, near
Palm Springs.

What a wonderful picture! It's very hard for me to imagine snow right now, as we are under a smothering, oppressive heat wave here in the N.C. mountains that shows no signs of abating any time soon. Looking at your photo made me feel a bit cooler though...
ReplyDeleteTerrific capture, Clair! I'm amazed -- although I shouldn't be considering our weather this year -- but the snow is still quite deep on all the mountains around us here in Seattle! Hope your week is going well! Enjoy!

I though that looked more like Southern California than New Mexico. Wild weather yesterday in Wheatland. We watched the storms from our back patio and some of the lightning and hail made it down to us.
ReplyDeleteWonderful shot of the windmills with snow mountain in the background.
ReplyDeleteDid you mean to copy the design of the snow with the wind turbines? Amazing capture and notion that there's still snow somewhere in June!
ReplyDeleteHappy trails, Claire.
this is a vast beauty. I love it. Happy SWF Claire.
ReplyDeleteI am surprised to, I never been there but I could not imagine that theres snow in California! Beautiful photo!
ReplyDeleteLovely! I guess it's still very cold at the highest elevations!
ReplyDeleteAs soon as I saw the wind turbines in the thumbnail photo, I thought, "Palm Springs"! Love the snow on the mountain, Clair. Looks like home to me. LOL

ReplyDeleteBeautiful shot. Always glad to see those wind turbines--we're going to be counting on them someday to produce our energy. Mickie :)
ReplyDeleteWhoa! Fantastic shot n location!
ReplyDeleteGreat shot, love the mountain, just not a great fan of masses wind-generators although they do go well in the composition.
ReplyDeleteJust magnificent beauty~
ReplyDeleteI've seen those before! I wonder where the power goes to.
