Peaceful Sunday morning. Coffee. Newspaper.
Hey! Hot air balloons.
Grab the cameras, dash out front. Chihuahuas follow and make merry, cavorting around our heels.
Hey! A coyote, coming this way through the orchard!
Grab the chihuahuas. Aim the camera. Hey! The battery is dying. Stick in a new battery, get pix of coyote as he comes closer...
... and closer...
... and closer...
... and passes by, around the corner and out of sight. Hey! Run out back to check the chickens, to be sure that Bitey Albertina hasn't eaten the coyote!
Wave to the last of the coyote-herding hot air balloons. Wave to the passing drivers who are admiring my pink jammies.

Oooh, that top photo is fantastic. I love the pop of colour against the sky.
ReplyDeleteWe get a lot of coyotes in my city. Apparently there are a few hundred of them living in this urban environment. I came across one once in the dark alley. Fortunately he was far enough away not to scare me too much.
I would never let my cat outdoors because these small pets make good food for the coyotes.
Fun post for the day, Clariz! I'm glad the coyote didn't cause any damage and so happy that you could entertain the balloon riders in your pink jammies!! What a terrific way to begin a day! Love your photos, too, as always! Hope you have a great week!

yes indeedy do grab the chihuahuas....once on one of our visits down to MBF, we were at the end of their road and saw a coyote. I drove like the wind bullseye and chased the coyote away from Morning Bray. When we got back after our lightning drive, Justina had jumped the fence and rescued the neighbors turkey from the coyote as we were heading down the road. But not before there were lots of loose turkey feathers for our reward for being chasers of the saving kind. Poor coyotes gotta eat but not neighbors according to Justina.
ReplyDeleteI love hot air balloons and I really love the coyote shots.
ReplyDeleteJust thought I'd check back with you here on blogger. You can find me on Pinterest by looking up Linda Wildenstein, I know you sent me an email with your name but I'm a ditz on these pain meds. Thanks for commenting on my bloggies and I'm glad you liked the music....too much fun especially their name.
ReplyDeleteNot really a neighbor to Justina. We live in the heights in Albuq. and she lives in the south valley. About a 20 minute drive. We have just been blessed with a friendship with she and that sweetie husband of hers and of course the donks. Oma Linda
you crack me up. love the disclaimer too. I know I'm guilty of that. what is a person to do? you got off some good shots of that coyote. Hope the chickens were safe. or is there more to this story? happy day to you ClairZ.
ReplyDeleteSuch a joyful post!
ReplyDeleteAnd I like exclamation posts because they portray excitement better than anything else!!!!

LOL about your comment about the exclamation point!
ReplyDeleteLovely pics - wonderful coyote shots and balloons.
What a funny and fun morning! I loved this post. Thank you for sharing.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the kind thoughts and comments on my blog about clothing. I, too, prefer bargan clothing. My sister and I went to the good will and thrift shops when I was in Cruces in Nov. They have better bargans and clothing than the ones here have.
ReplyDeleteGreat photos of the coyote. As long as I have lived in coyote country (all my life) I have never got photos of one as good as these. (I have pink Pj's too, and will go take photos in sleepware when I need to, or care for horses. and yes neighbors think I am crazy, too.
Great photos, Clair! (Hey, nothing wrong with judicious use of exclamation marks!!) I'd say coyotes and hot-air balloons call for an exclamation mark or two.
ReplyDeleteI have pink pajamas with sock monkeys on them. They make me very happy, and I'm quite certain our neighbors would find them amusing if they could see me when I step out on the porch to see the sun rise every morning. :-)
