Gracie Under Fire

The two newest members of the Zee Family, Gracie and Bertie Pierre, are the best of friends, in spite of what you may think after looking at these photos (click to enlarge except for the first one, which won't cooperate).

Here is Gracie, so sweet and demure, out for a stroll.

Let the games begin: Bertie approaches and begins to circle.

He grabs the nearest appendage. Have a heart, Bertie!

They assume the wrestling position.

Monsieur Bertie begins to realize that perhaps he has made a mistake in judgment.

He's been pinned! Miss Gracie, so sweet and demure, has won this round.

Did you have any idea, when you brought demure little Gracie home from the shelter, that she had the killer instinct? What a hilarious post, Princes Bluebird!

I can't decide if Gracie is a really big cat or if Bertie is a really small dog - in either case, those pictures just cracked me up.

Hilarious! That's teach that dog to "pick" on a kitty!

What gets me most about this is all the play by play drama. You had me at the first scene! What suspense!! You, my retired librarian friend, should be writing!!!

Your Gracie looks so much like my Lilly Ann ... my profile photo. Lilly Ann was a feral Lynx Point Siamese that I tamed.

She was six years old when I lost her. Literally, she went out front ... where she sat by her azalea bush ... two years ago ... I called and called and she was gone.

Later we found out that a coyote and racoons had moved into our woods ... due to the recent construction near our area.

Thus, my remaining four do not go outside.

Anyway, you have a very pretty girl

JC, I was struck by how much our two cats look alike. I am so sorry that you lost her, especially that way. You're never sure if she'll just wander back in some day...

Our cats pretty much stay in our urban yard but we are considering moving to a much more rural area. It will be hard to convince them to stay inside once they've become used to being able to go outdoors.

Gracie stayed in for a month or so after we brought her home. When she finally stepped outside, she was so happy. I've never seen a cat love a yard the way she loves ours. I guess there's no turning back now.

Thank you, everyone, for your comments. I have to say that this is one of my favorite posts so far. I had so much fun taking the pictures and writing the captions. I could hardly wait until it was finally published.

By the way, Ridin' Geeky, my friend, I thought I was writing here! Thank you for all your encouragement always, word-wise AND tech-wise.

This is hilarious. I just love it. Great shots you got there of the two of them together. I bet you were cracking up taking the pictures.
