Knit for Kids, 81-90: Closer to the Goal

I'm sending off another box of sweaters to Knit for Kids today. This will bring my total of sweaters completed to 90. I'm closer than ever to my goal of knitting 100 sweaters for this organization.

I don't want you to think that all I do is knit--I do attend a knitting group a couple of mornings a week, but then I carry my knitting along whenever we are driving in the car, and I knit while keeping Beez company in front of the TV during football season. That's a lot of football, as you can see!

Absolutely gorgeous - every single one of them. I hope you get a picture back from Knit for Kids some day that has 10 little kids all lined up wearing your sweaters.

You Go Clair! That is just awesome... and they are so adorable, each unique & different! Wouldn't it be fun to see them on each of the children they get sent too? What a gift you have, and what a wonderful way to share & contribute. Nice job.

I think you are amazing. I don't know how to knit.

You've given me an idea to start a knitting group. my local yarn shop lady has discontinued the group as she's turned more toward weaving and her loom, but I can start one here in my home, a morning a week. that's a grand idea. I admire your dedication to your project and the sweaters are such lovely colors. great style too.
I have to say...that header photo is GORGEOUS. It's White Sands, am I right?

Holy moly! I want to learn to knit. I hope there will be plenty of time once I have a back patio to sit on as I watch the mountains turn colors.

Any suggestions as to how/where to learn. Craft stores? I don't think I could learn from a book unless they are really, really simple.

Thank you all for your kind comments. We sure could make a great knitting group together!

Miss Becky, I hope you do start a knitting group. Yes, the header photo was taken at White Sands. That's my husband (known as Beez on this blog) walking up the dune.

Sandy, if you have a knitting friend, that would be the best way to learn the basics. I learned out of a magazine when I was a child (must have been pretty determined). A knitting group is a great place to share skills and ideas. I just came from mine and with some new techniques AND I got a lot of knitting done.

What a lovely thing to do. I can't knit beyond the basics. My mum knitted gorgeous baby clothes for my son. They are very precious possessions which bring back the memory of her.

ALMOST makes me want to knit...nawww, what was I thinkin'?? I'm so happy there are folks like you out there that enjoy a project like this. I enjoy it, but I don't enjoy doing it! I am amazed, though, that you have knitted this many sweaters for others. Great sweaters, great cause, great knitting...and you are a great person!
