Wow its awesome Clairz.
Happy SWF and weekend ahead.
Ha...aren't we lucky living in New Mexico (me soon)? Sometimes its just so darn easy to get the perfect shot!
Clairz, this is award winning quality! And that blue southwestern sky...sigh.
thanks for sharing!!
What a lovely way to frame the Peak!
I see a beautiful blue sky! Beautiful landscape!

It's a really clever shot - and beautiful too!
I love adobe, and the adobe effect that can be obtained from building with straw bales. Everyone should have an adobe house, with walls two feet thick - no heating, no cooling required except in extreme temperatures.
Enough of my rant, your photo is absolutely lovely, and the sky a real southern desert blue.

Wonderful shot.
you are giving me a serious New Mexico itch. it's borderline torturous to view such beauty and be so far from it, but thanks for sharing because it's heavenly to look at, especially enlarged... splendid shot! happy SWF and have a beautiful weekend Clairz.
Kay, we are lucky enough to live in an older adobe home. We really love it.
Really you are so lucky to find an open door to view the skies through. Great idea!

wonderful capture, stunning blue sky
have a good weekend
I really enjoy this kind of "threshold" shot; the Impressionists were fond of painting them (either looking into a window/doorway or out of one. The very first Photoshop exercise I did involved inserting sky behind a Mayan doorway. There's something about the transition between one thing and another that makes this sort of composition interesting. Your photo both frames the sky and invites us in. Thanks!
wow! that's very interesting....:) Glad to be here. Hope you can check out my ENTRY too!
Interesting point, Owlfarmer. I've always enjoyed the thresholds/doorways in literature that lead one into a different world. My walk to work in New Hampshire went through an archway of trees into an open, sunny field. It always felt like a magical place to me.
that's really cool, I like the door to no where
That door looks very inviting! We have a Picacho Peak, here, too! Have a wonderful weekend, Clair.
Your framing gives us a picture in picture with an O'keefe frame.
This is a lovely blue sky and a great frame with the door! Wonderful photo!
Lovely shot and looks so much like what I think of when I think of New Mexico!
This is gorgeous! I love the contrasting colours; great composition too!
