These were the skies over the Tularosa Basin as we drove back from a trip to eastern New Mexico a few weeks ago. For sky photos from all over the world, please visit Skywatch Friday.
Lovely pastel sky. Mother nature isn't playing fair with the weather, you and Yogi as well as many others complain of lack of rain while much of the country worries about floods. "Some say the world will end in fire, some say in ice" perhaps we are getting both at once, it just depends on where you stand.
One thing about the desert is that it's never just one thing. Every time you look, there's something different; every time you go to take a photo of the same place, it's already changed. What I love about this one is the color subtlety--something non-desert lovers don't often recognize. Great shot, Clair.
Hi Clair! Thanks for your comment! I was thinking of you yesterday... I was ordering books on Amazon- I've ordered 2 Craig Childs books: The Secret Knowledge of Water & House of Rain. It was hard to stop there.... all of his books look great. Thanks for the tips awhile back, my plan is to take more time for reading! :)

One of the things I miss about New Mexico is being able to see mountains way off in the distance. Great photo.
