It was a perfect field trip to take with friends who had recently moved here from cold and frosty New England--on a sunny day we drove south to El Paso, Texas, to visit the El Paso Saddle Blanket Company, where you can wander through two acres of some pretty crazy stuff. You already saw the painted skulls and cowboy caskets in my last post, Enjoy Yourself; now, here is some more of what caught my eye.

We plan to go back, now that we have stopped reeling from all the amazing sights. I'm starting to think that I'd really like one of those painted skulls.

Is there a population movement from New England to the south? You could set up in business, introducing newcomers to such essential shops as this.

Linda, in the past year we have had friends move here from New England and Canada. The Chamber of Commerce loves us! The people moving here want to close the gates behind them and keep the place a big secret. It's probably a good thing that not everyone loves the desert, an acquired taste for sure.
I love that place. I have to figure out how to get to El Paso now.

Amazing place -- would take more than one visit to see it all obviously! I had wondered what ever happened to your friends who were moving there. (Probably I missed some posts while we were on the road, I never seem to totally catch up.)
