City-light diamond necklace at the throat of the mountains
Twinkles, then winks off
The wind chime hangs very, very still
A shiver-cold desert night is ending
Scarlet fingers from the rising sun
Reach up, into a warming sky
Distant dogs bark up into the orange pink gold light
Coyote gives one last commanding howl, and
The November day is born

What a beautiful poem!
Why, thank you, Buck! I was hoping it might turn out to be haiku, but that coyote interfered with my plans. You must check the sly labels.
What a lovely poem indeed, Clairz!! Such beautiful skies and colors and a great capture for the day. Perfect beginning for any day!

Oh Clair how magnificent and your poem so very beautiful. I do hope you will help me in creating the gratitude quilt this year…there is more info at the top of my blog.
Hi Clair!
Your long lost blogging friend here :)
It IS getting chilly as of late... I was trying to deny winter was coming, but we're expecting snow this weekend, so I finally got some wood... so nice to have a fire going.
I want to read your spooky tales, but I am afraid I'll have to wait til the daylight hours :)
Happy November!
Nice words and tranquil photo
Have good weekend.

One of your best. Here in Texas, we are beginning fall as you are ending. I remember. You help me remembe.
A wonderful description of your dawn and a lovely shot to go with it.
What a great sky to begin a new day! Your poem is going well with coffee this morning.
