For My Northern Friends

Down in the Alameda neighborhood in town, the willows are leafing out and the daffodils and fruit trees are in bloom. A little north of town where we live, our neighbor's lilac is blooming and my pansies are putting on a good show. I planted them last fall and they have bravely bloomed all winter long. Soon they will give up as the days grow hotter.

I am posting these photos for my friends in the North--no, not to make them envious, but to reassure them that Spring is making its annual march toward them up from the South. In a couple of weeks, they'll be seeing an end to all the snow (we hope) and the new beginnings of springtime.

Such gorgeous flowers and colors and a wonderful promise of spring! It's still pretty chilly here in Washington, but it has been a mild winter and flowers are beginning to bloom!! Hope you have a lovely weekend, Clairz!

You have an early spring and how fortunate you are. We really don't have any here (and I miss it because we get back to Oregon too late). Thanks Clair for the lovely pix and the good memories!

Lovely!

Pansies are my all time favourite. I hope the warmer Spring arrives soon so I can plant some ;-)

I love all flowers, but pansies are a favorite as well as my orchids. I have nasturums blooming in the sunroom and geraimucms. (I can't spell) I didn't get any pansies last fall and wish I had now. They would probablly do well in the sunroom, too. It is so windy here today that I don't expect much blossoms on the trees.

Let's see, what is blooming? Snow. :<)
We do have some bare spots where the deer graze a bit. The wild turkeys are a great sight out walking around.

I am hoping budding flowers are on their way here, too. It was freezing this past weekend! Like the plants here, I am ready for some warmer weather! Ready to bloom!
