In the Gloaming: For Skywatch

Gloaming: After sunset and before dark

If you click on the photo to enlarge it a bit, you can perhaps just make out a lit-up church steeple in the lower left. If I were a better photographer, I might have been able to make it a more obvious part of the photo. By the way, I am signed up for Digital Photography classes, which will be starting soon. Hooray!

The grand show is eternal. It is always sunrise somewhere; the dew is never dried all at once; a shower is forever falling; vapor is ever rising. Eternal sunrise, eternal dawn and gloaming, on sea and continents and islands, each in its turn, as the round earth rolls. ~John Muir

To see the grand show from all around the world, be sure to visit Skywatch.

Fantastic shot, Clariz! So very peaceful and beautiful. I can see the steeple. Love Muir's words and they are indeed perfect for the photo! I do envy you the classes you're going to be taking. Wish I could find some here that I could afford!! Hope you have a beautiful weekend!

Thank you all for visiting. Sylvia and Aimee, I found my class at the Las Cruces Museum of Art. Cost: $65. I've been looking forward to doing this for a long time.

A wonderful capture and you've left a bit of mystery with that steeple...which I was able to see quite well. And thanks for the Muir quote--my hero.
Happy SW Friday!

I like having the moon as the focal point instead. It draws your eye to the sky where it should be. Last night we went to a USC women's basketball game in Eugene OR. The temp walking home was 49 degrees. Is this really February? - Margy

I love the soft glow of pinky-orange...like a ribbon. Beautiful!

Beautiful - especially with the detail enlarged. The shading of the sunset colours up into night is absolutely lovely.

Love the John Muir quote.

Oooh, digital photography classes! I have a one-to-one session lined up, but it will be a while yet. Will be interested to hear - and see - how you get on.

Terrific! What a beautiful greeting card or a postcard it can make... Awesome shot of Nature's design!
