A Canadian friend, suffering from gray sky overload and no doubt feeling a little frustrated with his endless winter, recently asked if we ever get tired of clear blue skies, day after day.
You know, it's all a matter of what you do with those skies. On this particular day, we were sitting in the shade on the porch of our adobe house, sipping a bottle or two of Moose Drool, watching the play of sunshine and shadows on the Chinese elm buds, gazing up at the Organ Mountains, and feeling far too pleased with ourselves.
I'd say we were making very good use of just another boring day of sunshine here in the desert of southern New Mexico.
To see how people are coping with their skies, boring or otherwise, please be sure to visit Skywatch Friday.

We had a hint of nice sunny weather and now its cold, drizzly. So, I'm jealous of your moose drool and porch.
Ya know, when i lived in Southern Cal, sometimes the blue skies did get a bit "boring." But here in NM, I don't find it the case. Perhaps it's due to the fact I lived in Southern Oregon for a while (gray, drizzly, long winters.) Plus, we get those wonderful summer thunderstorms here, which create some of the most beautiful skies I've ever seen!
ps- good use of your day! sounds wonderfully relaxing!
:)
Ah, still windy, gray, wet and chill here in Seattle, too!! So, like Yogi, I'm jealous of your moose drool and porch and gorgeous blue skies!! By the way -- what is moose drool???? That's a new one for me!! Love it! Have a wonderful weekend, Clariz!!

every skyscape has a beauty all its own...just like every person. I love all the tiny green leaves, like a lattice through which to gaze at the sky...soon they will be here too...but another snow storm is on its way tonight first!
No, After livinh in england for most of my life, I don't get bored with blue skies here either. And I can almost taste the Moose Drool!!
Such a lovely day with blue sky. Love all your photos. Wonderfully captured.
Have a great weekend.
These is amazingly beautiful!
Moon shots
I have to say I get tired of rain and gray skies but I do like my seasons so I have to put up with them ;-)
Fantastic shots. The blue sky through the tree looks great.
Beautiful blue sky! I love your header photo--the west has some beautiful spots, doesn't it! Mickie:)
I have to disagree...it may be boring but your shots are awesome...:)
Happy April Fool's! Hope you can visit my Skywatch Friday entry. Thanks!
Ho Hum... boring blue skies. Not. :D I'll never tire of the beautiful blue skies of New Mexico. :)
Oh wow. Cruel. Just cruel. :-)
Love the additional detail of the Moose Drool. Nice choice, btw.
:-)
oh my, I so wish I would have been sitting there having Moose Drool with you. what a glorious day and sky you've captured. spring is very far along there I see. there was a period last summer when we had a run of sunny days - it went on for weeks and weeks with no clouds or rain. after awhile I did get tired of it and really wanted a cloudy day or two. but hey, it's all a matter of perspective. and yours is great. have a beautiful weekend.
Yes, we've had snow today though it didn't stick (at last). I do envy your environs and the landscapes to be had there. I'm very glad that you are enjoying it all to the fullest!
Well Clair -- somehow I don't think your Northern friends are going to feel sorry for you and your "boring" skies.
This post goes in my (mental) 'wish-I'd said that' file. As a fellow "sufferer" much of the time! (Blue skies usually here in Florida, but maybe not as blue as beautiful NM)
First Mango Chili Shakes and now Moose Drool? You have the coolest drinks out there!
@Kim (Clean Plate): Oh, yes we do! I sure hope you come on out to try some of this weird-sounding stuff. The guest room is waiting...
