Red Red Cherries and Blue Blue Skies, for Skywatch

Click twice on the photo to really get a good look at those cherries

I've never seen such red cherries on a tree. This photo was taken at the Cherry Festival in High Rolls, New Mexico a few weeks ago. If you ever get a chance to go, be sure to buy a gallon or two of the incredibly delicious and refreshing chilled cherry cider.

It was a beautiful ride that day from the hot Mesilla Valley, through the Tularosa Basin, past White Sands, and up into the much cooler, pine-scented Sacramento Mountains.

For skies all over the world, be sure to check out Skywatch Friday.

Wow...I've never seen cherry trees so full. Our newest grand has just discovered "the red ones with the hard thing in it that you can't eat" He just can't get enough, and is still always amazed that his fingers get red.

That looks fantastic, Clairz! I've never seen a cherry tree so full either! And so perfect against that blue, blue sky! What a great shot for the day! Hope your week is going well!

Wow, lots of cherries on the tree. Yum! Cherries are too expensive here.

Happy sky watching.

Yum! Wish we could grow those here; I've got peaches and pears galore, but the former will end up in bird bellies before they're ripe and the latter won't be ready until fall. Cherries are on sale at Whole Foods today, though--you've inspired me to make a run.

Have a great weekend.

A wonderful photo, Clair. I used to love cherry season when I was growing up. Now I'm happy to see photos.

I did click twice, and they look amazing!! oooosh, yes, I bet it is getting hot in your neck of the woods! it's even warm here in the foothills of San Diego!

Very nicely captured.

Photo Cache: Yes, these cherries are edible. This tree was in a pick-your-own orchard.

The header photo was taken in Tombstone, Arizona on the main street. I can't seem to get the description of it moved up any closer than way down on the right of the blog. If anyone knows how, I'd love to learn how to do it.

Photo Cache, I figured out how to label the header photo, thanks to you. I added text to the photo in Picnik.

The tree certainly had a lot of cherries on it. Such fun to pick and pit and then make a great cherry pie. Mickie :)

Birdman, born in Maine, stayed just a few months and spent a long time on the west coast (CA, British Columbia, and WA), before moving to New Hampshire for around 23 years. Now in NM.

See, no short answers here.
