50th Sweater Completed for Knit for Kids

The more nervous I get about this election, the faster I knit. I've been working on this batch of sweaters for Knit for Kids ever since shipping the last one in February 2008. This time I made it all the way to my 50th sweater.

The Knit for Kids organization apparently needs sweaters in larger sizes and more sweaters for boys, with blue being the favorite color. You'll see I knitted several plain blue ones, all in size 8.

In the next couple of posts, I'll share some other photos of recently finished knitting projects. I need a little break from the election and maybe you do, too.

You are saintly, and I'm not being facetious. I mean it in an old-timey way. You engage in unqualified generosity... the kind of giving with no strings attached, caring for those who need it most without expecting a reward or a pat on the head or anything at all... a very christian thing to. This coming from an agnostic Unitarian!

I hope some of your generous nature rubs off on me.

Your sweaters are beautiful. How wonderful that you turned all that election fretting into something so positive and lovely! Fifty sweaters is quite an accomplishment.

Thank you, Jean and Beth. I used to be shooting for 100 sweaters until I read an article about a lady who had just completed her 200th one for Knit for Kids. Oh, well. If our post election days are anything like this campaign, I may make it yet.

Beautiful! What an inspiration! I am nearly finished with my first Knit for Kids sweater and can't wait to begin my next ones. Now I have some advice and great ideas to use. Thanks.

Dusty, thank you so much. I've finished 75 of these little sweaters now. Glad to hear you are knitting some, too. They are so much fun and it's nice to know that someone is enjoying them.
