It's Time to Go!

The adobe house in New Mexico

Over the next several days our family will be packing up more boxes, loading them, attending a closing for this Clovis house, driving the boxes and furniture and cats and dogs down to Las Cruces, attending another closing for our "new" adobe home, then unloading the boxes and furniture and cats and dogs.

In between, we will be smiling and smiling and trying to rest our backs, because surely people at our age should not be behaving this way!

I'll take notes and lots of photos and will be back some time next week to share the experience with you all. In the meantime, just in case you haven't seen it, you might enjoy reading about another old house we lived in: The House on High Street.

I looked at the NH house, it was pretty. What town" If it was in the article, I missed it.

Catch you after the move. Love that house, too.

Hope everything goes smoothly for you throughout the closings and that you can laugh at the parts that don't.

Fourwinds, the house is in Candia, NH. We had so many adventures there!

Linda, thank you. I can see you probably know a thing or two about closings! Right now we're dealing with the bumps along the way, including the fact that Beez was called away by a family emergency in the middle of this and is now on his way back east. I'm sure that more will be happening.

I'm looking forward to the part where we can laugh again.

Congrats! My husband and I will be moving into our new home in Clovis at the same time you are leaving. Your optimistic posts on Clovis were extremely helpful when I was quite upset about moving here. I hope I can make the best of our time here just as you did! Enjoy your next adventure, we hope to enjoy seeing as much of the world as you have and enjoy living in each and every place.

What an exciting beginning! I hope everything goes well and that you'll be in your new home soon.

Your House on High Street looks so much like the house we called home for 7 years in South Carolina. It was also a colonial, but with longer windows, and the fireplace was on the left side of the house and it had no window above the door (where the window would have been was a huge closet that my kidlets filled with their treasures. hehe)

Funny how much our houses look alike, though, and with such a difference of distance between them...one in the north and one in the south.

JC, don't know if I can stand much more of this "excitement!" (You will notice I'm still messing about with the blog instead of packing at this very moment).

Brittney, your positive attitude is wonderful! You will meet lots of really wonderful people here.

Good luck on your move, and I'm sure you'll be happy here once you get settled in. New Mexico - as you probably already know - is like no other place on earth.

Good luck with the moving, don't work too hard. Enjoy this adventure and give us all the details. I loved reading about the NH house before. You had such great stories about that house. Have a good weekend.

All the best to you, Clair, with your move. Having endured more moves and closings than I care to count, I know how stressful they can be---both mentally and physically. Be careful with all those boxes full of books---and keep the Advil handy. :-)
