Looking east toward the Organ Mountains
The last time we visited Las Cruces, we stopped by Roberto's for some green chile and potato burritos and took them down by the Rio Grande for a picnic.
Be sure to go to the Skywatch Friday website to see photos of skies all over the world. You can see the week's photos any time after 2:30 EST on Thursday.
This was the view in the other direction

What a great view, love the mountains in the distance. Yes, I try to keep my camera at hand, but there's always those great shots that "get away"
Don't we have the most beautiful skies? This is a great shot!
Sometimes I do blog trips -- we've visited the tent rocks. Next I'll take everyone to the Village of San Luis Cabezon. Visit anytime www.fromdownhere.com
Very nice. I love how the view is contrasting all the colors..grass, mountains, sky.
I love the Organ Mountains. I'm not sure I've seen any mountains anywhere that I like better. TERRIFIC photos!
It must have been a fun picnic. One thing about living in British Columbia is that I miss authentic Mexican food. I invite you to come see my sky views from the BC Ferry to Powell River. -- Margy
Lovely views of the mountains and great cloudy skies.
These are lovely scenes for SkyWatch! Greetings from Iowa.
postcard perfection!~ beautiful sky watch!
Now, you've really made me homesick. I was referred to your blog by Lin of "If the Creek Don't Rise". She is awesome. Your and I have much in common as I am a knitter, book lover (have only had my TV on 3 times in about 6 wks because my head has been in a book when not at work, sleeping, eating and enjoying blogs of others as I have none. I work at Ft. Hood, TX,as a Guidance Counselor for the Army, having moved to Belton, TX, from Las Cruces 10 yrs ago. I worked at White Sands Missile Rnge, NM, 21 1/2 (and in Germany before that in the mid 70's). Thanks for the great knitting pictures and references. I'll get buying Knitter's Workshop for sure. Take Care! Belton Belle
