After reading the Canyon Spirits book, I wondered just how many archaeological sites there are around New Mexico that contain ruins of structures built by the Ancient Puebloans. Here are the ones that I found on the New Mexico Tourism website.
Thanks for the info Clariz. I love New Mexico and would have liked to seen more of some of the sites. We made a trip to Mesa Verde and number of years ago and it was fascinating!
My sister the librarian. All of my life, I've had to live in the booksmart shadow of My Big Sister, The Reader. (heavy sigh)
How does this happen? What maketh the gods of this kind of stuff look down upon the little fishes swimming inside their mothers' bellies and declare "Little Fishy A, thou shalt be a reader" or "Little Fishy B, thou shalt be a couch potato"?
Maybe we're just a product of the times. Television reared its divine countenance in our suburban livingroom shortly after I was born, so perhaps that might explain it. Did My Big Sister barely escape it by the skin of her bookmark? Was it by sheer will that she resisted that seductive drone coming from the magic box with the sparkling screen? Or was it simply our divine destinies to follow different paths in life?
I guess I'll never know. I'd look it up but I really wouldn't know where to start so.... so what's on tonight??????
