Promise Unfulfilled, for Skywatch

These days, all eyes look skyward.

We search for clouds with meaning and substance.
We look with hope for thunderheads carrying rain.

We look with anxiety at the fire maps

We make lists of what we would take if we ever had to leave.

We wait for the monsoons.

I do hope you're not affected by horrific fires in New Mexico, Clairz! Think about you every time I see the news. Gorgeous, hopeful skies and capture for the day! Take care!

oh gosh I hope I hope I hope you get rain. I saw the news about it this morning, and how the firefighters think they may have Los Alamos out of danger for the time being. your skies are divine. and may they bring that much-needed moisture. have a great weekend Clairz.

I've been thinking of you as I monitor the fire situation--and was looking at the NM fire map while I wrote my (weirdly timely) post this morning. An old friend works at Los Alamos, and I can't even imagine that lovely place being so threatened.

May it rain!

Amen! Praying for rain here...but all we're getting are thunder and lightning...dry storms, that can cause wildfires.
With all the forest fires burning in New Mexico right now I am feeling like a cat in a room full of rocking chairs...very on edge.

Gorgeous photo, though!

We had just a teeny rain last night. I was so hopeful. This morning it is smoky & hot again. As I'm sure you know, the Las Conchas fire is now at 103,000 acres- the largest in NM history. Let's hope the lab remains safe...

I know so well how this feels - we too have searched the sky and prayed for rain. We've been on fire alert. I am crossing fingers you will get some soon. This is a wonderful photo and I just adore the new header you've posted.
