V is for Vintage (ABC Wednesday)

Vintage vehicles always catch my eye, and we saw a couple on our recent trip through Arizona and California.

This faded old fire truck was parked out behind the Amerind Foundation Museum in Dragoon, Arizona.

We spotted this amazing old homemade wooden trailer at a gas station in central California. If you click on the photo to enlarge it, you will see light coming through the boards, which I took to mean that the interior was stripped out and all ready to be refurbished.

that trailer IS amazing! look at the round window in that door. too bad a peek inside wasn't possible. there's something very cheerful about the firetruck - the grill/rounded headlights make like the truck is smiling. great photo finds. I don't think I'll ever stop loving the name Dragoon. have a great day.

I LOVE the old trucks! I have a dream of owning one some day that is functional, and I will drive down a dirt road in my cowboy hat to my home out in the country!

Oooo...I love that trailer, Clair. I would SO like to see inside. Love the old truck, too---those old trucks had a beauty that's sorely missing from modern trucks. Now they're all sharp-edged and intimidating and lacking in grace.

That old truck is a beauty. I'm not so sure painting your trailer black in the SW is such a good idea...

What a fabulous photo find, that incredible trailer. I've never seen anything like it, and that's saying a lot, because my father and his friends were great ones for home-built campers.
Wow.

I like vintage vehicles as photo subjects.
I hope you are not being impacted by the fires, news reports are scary. It has finally turned hot here, time to head for the mountains.

Great V choice! I have always liked the grill 'faces' on the older trucks & cars; to my mind we aren't so creative with our 'new' versions. And that old trailer is priceless.
Thanks!

I love old trucks, so much character. Wow that trailers is almost art deco. I know someone who bought a big old fire engine, he lives in a narrow road valley so it might come in handy one day while waiting for the real fire appliance to turn up.
