My Eyes Are Full of Sky for Skywatch Friday

The Manzano Mountains

Such a contrast between the dark skies and the bleached grasses

The Vaughn train depot

We traveled a few days ago from Clovis in eastern New Mexico to the Manzano Mountains, which are located a bit southeast of Albuquerque. Here are some of the amazing skies we saw on our journey, both going and coming back.

This storm was just a little bit behind us all the way. Once we got home we sat out on the deck watching it approach until the rain forced us onto the covered patio, where we had to shout to be heard over the powerful winds and rains.

Be sure to look at skies, both calm and stormy, from all around the world via Skywatch Friday.

Just stunning! How are you ever able to go inside, and not think about what you're missing?!

Hi! I traveled through New Mexico a few years ago, and we went into a cave. I enjoyed the plants that were there.

You have beautiful sky shots, there! Thanks for your nice comments on my blog. Your dogs are cute, too!

Some of the most dramatic skies I've ever seen have been in New Mexico, especially when I travel across I40. These are wonderful, and make me want to find time for another road trip. Thanks!

Nice collection cloud shots, especially your home page photo.

You are getting more rain in the southwest than we are in northern Virginia. Not a drop since July 1. I think I've seen those mountains once upon a time. The grass there looks like straw.

Just lovely! We've been having skies like that every afternoon here, but no serious rain...just a few drops. Everything is so dry here in the mountains.

Wow, what great shots, Clair! I do love the terrible beauty of stormy skies---I'm thrilled and frightened at the same time.
