Well, now, this was just a treat this morning! I don't usually have time to browse much in the AM, and commenting from a mobile is not my deal. Happy I was able to see this so early to comment on a real keyboard.

First, thanks for the sunrise, because unless I see it on your blog, I probably won't see it these days. Beautiful!

Second, love the horses! I'm waiting for our state fair so I can get some good pics of COWS (and some horses, too!).

Third...uhhhh...were you close enough to that snake to get this picture or did you send in your staff to get this photo? hehe You're a more adventurous photographer than I! I just battle a little traffic!

I love walking this mile with you [and I'm not even tired, lol] What a beautiful state you've inherited.
Have a great weekend!

Okay, I have to admit that the snake was dead and that's the only way I would have gotten that close. I cropped out the squashed bits.

I think he was a young bull snake.

Very beautiful. Loved your photos. One thing about the openness of NM is that you have such an unobstructive view of the glory of the sky. Here in the midwest it's hard where I am to see any but the sky directly over my head when I am at home. There are so many trees here.
Thanks for the tour.

I love the sky photos--but the horses are also wonderful, and the snake as well. What a great idea to go out with the camera; this seems highly preferable to sitting on one's bum complaining about the weather. You've inspired me to nip away from the Open Championship for a few minutes tomorrow morning and take the camera out for a walk.

The last one I did not need to see ... the horses were great though and the sunsets.

Have a GRAND Weekend !!!

I missed this post when I came to look at Sky Watch. What wonderful shots - esp. the patterns of the snake and the gravel (though I'm kinda creeped-out). The sunrise in NM is spectacular!

Oh, so pretty....and cute Paint baby. I'll be there soon for 8 days. Hope to take some nice pics like you!

BTW, where do you suggest we go to eat casual food? Our ranch is in Corona and all we have there is a couple teensy restaurants with nondescript fare.

Thanks!

Sandy, I have left a much longer food excursion suggestion over on your blog just in case you don't check back here.

For anyone else wondering about my casual restaurant recommendation for that section of the state it goes like this:

1. The Owl Bar & Cafe, San Antonio, NM for green chile cheeseburgers.
2. The Buckhorn Tavern for gccbs so you can decide for yourselves the age-old question, "Owl or Buckhorn?"
3. The fudge at the gas-station-looking place on the same road (there's just one main road through this town, so it isn't hard to find).

And if any of you think it's too far to drive to the Owl from wherever you are, just remember that we once drove 580 miles for that amazing lunch.
