Meteorology Boy! For Skywatch

Most of the time our skies are clear and blue because we live in the desert. But every once in a while we are blessed with an overcast sky and clouds that might--well, they just might--bring rain to our parched land.

At Cody's age, a ripe old 15, every sky is a wonderful one. He sits here on his favorite windowsill to check out the possibility of rainfall on a rare cloudy day.

As you will see from the photo below, taken several months earlier, Cody is devoted to his meteorological duties and seldom leaves his observation post. Click on the pre-dawn photo to enlarge it and look for Cody's glowing eyes in the window to the left of the porch.

For skies (and sky observers) everywhere, be sure to visit Skywatch Friday

Now that is a proper watch-cat! He does take his position in the household very seriously, doesn't he?

I like the sepia tone of the evening light on the cat, nice photo:)

Cody is beautiful! Love *all* the glowing eyes watching over you from the house.
(I'm also really digging your kai-fiber-updates on my blog... they make me SMILE!)
(Did you see my mom's comment to you?) :-) :-)

Danni, I did see your mom's comment to me on your blog! You must tell her that I had a very successful afternoon of working on The Kai Project yesterday, while watched over by my knitting friends. They kept me on task--and you could only know how funny that statement is if you could see us, because we rarely get anything done in each other's company! We sure do have fun.

Cody looks like a great cat with a wonderful personality, handsome...and he's an expert about the weather. He has it all! :)

He is wonderful! When the weather changes, does he let you know?

Kay, for a Siamese cat, Cody has the teeniest voice. However, he is a very experienced cat and has no trouble at all conveying his meteorological needs to us, like "open the door please, it's a sunny day and I want to go out," and "please close the window, I think it might rain."

Ah yes, I see his eyes in the window and those of a few outdoor creatures as well.

I am so glad you have someone watching out for you in the unlikely event of less-than-blue-skies! ;p>) What a beautiful cat he is -- and what beautiful eyes he has.

I love the top photo of Cody - it's beautiful.

Did you get any rain? We've had more than I've seen in a long, long time here over the last few days.

clairz said...

Justina, the rain this summer seems to have mostly swung north in your direction. We got a very brief shower last night, that's all for the last several days. However, we are finally up over 3 inches for the year. Three inches out of our usually 8 or 9; imagine.

First, the photo of Cody is one of your best, really perfect! I remember the second photo, but of course had never seen those glowing cat eyes in the window. So clear when you click to enlarge. At his age I guess it would be as much fun to watch what going on outside as to participate in whats going on outside! Hehe...sounds like me, sometimes!

That is so cool... mine sit at the windows all night long...I never thought to capture their glowing eyes as you have. I'm finally able to open the windows and let in some fresh air ... have an excellent weekend, too!
