Alison, thank you for one of the nicest compliments I've ever received. How did you happen to find this blog?

Clair,
I was googling photos of New Mexico one day and somehow ended up finding your blog.
So glad I did as you have given such wonderful insight to NM, and your adventures. I felt like I was with you on each one.

Dear Clairz,
I have been reading your blog for about 5 months now - at least since I found out we were moving there. I searched for blogs on Clovis, NM and came across yours so I added it to my favorites. Of course I came across some bad ones knocking Clovis but I feel you make your home what it is by your attitude and outlook. Thank you for sharing pictures of these cute homes in Clovis. We will be moving to Clovis in June and are looking for a home to rent and I had no idea there were such beautiful homes there. What area are these homes found in? Is there a side of town to avoid? Do you know of any 3 or 4 bedrooms available for rent?Any advice on moving to Clovis? We are a military family and this is my second military move - we have lived here on the Emerald Coast in Florida for almost 10 years. Hope to hear from you soon - maybe someday meet you.

Hi, Claudia. It's so great for me to hear about who is reading and why!

In Clovis, they always say to stay above 14th for the safest neighborhoods. The northeast part of the town is where you will find the new homes, but you don't see many people out and about because they just glide on in to their garages, which close automatically; and because the backyards are so private.

Some of those really cute houses--the little cottage style ones--are along Gidding and Axtell streets, starting around 12th and on up. You can tell that the people who live there really take care of their homes and yards. I'll bet the neighbors all know each other.

There is a 3 bedroom/2 bath home for rent right next door to us in the northeast section. The last time it was advertised it was around $1100 a month, but there are lots of houses around that have lower rents. This one has a ReMax sign; I know that Coldwell Banker Colonial Real Estate also handles rentals. Just ask for Niki Harmon at Colonial--she sold us our house and is great to work with. If she doesn't do rentals, she'll certainly put you in touch with someone else in her office who does.

All the realtors appear anxious to work with folks coming in to Cannon AFB. With your great attitude, you'll find this to be a very friendly town. I'm getting fonder of it every day. The people are wonderful!

Be sure to look at the City-Data New Mexico forum. I have a link to it--just keep scrolling down on the right.

If you would like to ask any other questions, please fire away.
